| A great lazy tune for when the pipes are going well. Full of character like 'Hills of Perth', '79th Farewell to Gibralter' marches. As usual, it is always worth reading anything that Jim writes.

| And just a wee note that most members of what used to be the KOSB aren't particularly fond of being called kosbies. Stick to spelling out the initials for safety's sake. |

| It's a great example of how nice a tune can sound even when it focusses so much on just notes of the arpeggios, and also how the tune makes full use of the range of notes available. Even though the pipe range is often thought of as a limited range, this tune is up and down the range throughout, and gives to my mind, a feeling of expansiveness and of there being plenty scope for a great melody. In that expansive stretched out kind of way, it fits very nicely with the photo of the countryside round about Greenock. |

| Back when Archie Dewar was PM of the 48th, Auchmountains Bonny Glen was frequently on the band list, as was 25th KOSB's Farewell to Meerut. Practicing the other day for the Madagascar Open, I played Auchmountains. It's amazing with all the "seniors moments" one has, you never forget a nice tune.
