COMMENT(S): Pipe-Major Angus MacDonald MBE: A pipes|drums Interview from the Archives

All of us who are interested in piping history are deeply grateful for these reprints. One note to those who were not present back in the early days of Scottish instructors travelling to North America: For my money, the late John MacFadyen's contribution to Eastern US and Ontario piping in the '60's and '70's was as significant, if not moreso, than those Big Angus mentioned. Please don't take this as a slam or criticism of Angus MacDonald. I just felt MacFadyen's name should be in anyone's litany of Scots who came over to teach.

When teaching solo drumming, patience is a necessity. Enforce the basics. Don't rush the student into playing rudiments/tunes too difficult for them.
