While I won't get a chance to see the Big Music Society anytime soon, I can say that John's "Extraordinary Little Cough" is one of my favorite albums on the iPod now and I love how he uses odd ideas and other instruments to execute relatively traditional tunes. Excellent review!

Great review Jenny. It sure was an excellent performance and hats off to all involved, especially John for bringing the whole thing together. Those that don't like or appreciate Piobareachd must take the time to listen to some of John's work. You'll be into it in no time. Even if you're a drummer!

When competing, play to your strengths, not your weaknesses. It's useless to play 'Susan MacLeod' if you are not able to make strong clear darados. Steer clear of the 'Atholl Cummers' if you can't make F doublings. Concentrate on tunes that allow you to show off the best of your finger technique.
