It's great to see talented people doing what they really love. I well remember those dark winter weeks at the NPC! It paid off with a World Championship later that year when the days were long and the sun was bright! Great memories Donald! Best, Doc

Glad to see you're doing well and happy. Give my best to your Dad and sisters. A far cry from the little **** who used to chase me around St. Andrews Hall.

One of the things I'm really appreciating about these interviews, is the way in which really first class players and people, emphasise the importance of great teachers, continuous learning, and quality. And here again, those same ingredients and a few others. Truly inspirational.

Yes Donald the benefits still outweigh the negatives, don't you remember getting the quota done quicktime and then off to the Glengarry Country Club for 18 holes all those years ago... well done with everything.

Don't be afraid to modify or undercut holes to improve chanter intonation. It may seem extreme, but there would scarcely be a Grade 1 band that hasn't partaken in a spot of chanter renovation to beneficial effect.
