This has helped me remember my life before big comeptitions. as a piper in a full woodwind, brass, and pipe band highschool marching band, we took a summer trip to Scotland in 94 and were so well received for the music we played you would have thought we were SFU at the Royal Concert hall.

A great story, and well told. This is the heart and soul of it.

I know that it's all about the music and less about the ties to the military and no one wants to wear the full dress in a hot Canadian summer. However we never look as good or feel as true as we do with the feather Bunnet, the plaid and all the rest. I have to add my favourite band at the moment is Peel Polis.

Quite an outstanding experience for the lads. A trip that will stay with them the rest of their lives. Lest we forget.

I agree with Janet. The memories of this visit will remain with the young people who attended. For those of us who live in North America, most times our only experience with war is what we read in the history books. All one needs to do is visit the battlefields AND cemetaries to see the true sacrifice our forefathers made on our behalf. Thank you, Jim and P!D for another necessary reminder.

Oh my goodness- how amazing. Impossible to read that without a tear in the eye. Beautifully written and brilliantly managed and felt, by the boys themselves. Credit to every one of them, and their teachers and all who accompanied them, especially Jim.

Pipers: When making a taorluath or crunluath from D, slightly flex the right-hand's fingers out a bit just before the movement. This will help to lift the ring-finger for that B gracenote.
