Overall I really enjoy this recording - i think it was Andrew Berthoff who mentioned in his review of the concert that at times the crowd noise was distracting, this shows through to me on both of the solos. The highlight is for sure the inclusion of all three medleys.

Good review, of a group and CD that seems to be on the top of my repeat play list. The "note perfect" comment reminded me of the documentary done on Vladimir Horowitz in the 80's (he played the piano not the pipes). He misses a lot of notes but the colour and subtle nuance he brought out in each piece was unique. He is considered one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century.

Colin MacLellan: the pipes|drums Interview, Part 5featured article

When competing, play to your strengths, not your weaknesses. It's useless to play 'Susan MacLeod' if you are not able to make strong clear darados. Steer clear of the 'Atholl Cummers' if you can't make F doublings. Concentrate on tunes that allow you to show off the best of your finger technique.
