Great stuff. Gerry was one of the seasoned veteran players when I joined the General Motors band that quickly morphed into the 78’th. As a complete rookie player, at that level of our game, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of his reference to our P/M as “DeadRock” but, like Gerry, it was all cool. The catalyst that drew me to the band was the “Mason’s Apron” medley. To this day I can’t say I’ve played a more memorable arrangement of tunes. I later learned of Gerry’s hand in the content of that medley and outside influences he brought to the table like harpist Alan Stivell’s ‘Little Cascade’ which provided a brilliant climax to that medley.
