Ah Ali G. As each day goes by and as time should provide healing. I find myself more sore and missing him more and more. Great stories from good guys. Reason alone to subscribe to Pipes Drums. RIP Alasdair

Great to see the photos accompanying Willie's nice words about Alasdair. Of course I remember the day those photos were taken . . . as I was there filming the Spirit of Scotland band for the "On The Day" documentary. It was the Wednesday afternoon before the 2008 World Championships and the band had ducked in under the shelter of St. Andrews in the Square as rain began to fall. In a later camera interview, Alasdair told me how being a part of the SoS band meant the world to him.

You're right about his remarkable memory for details. He'd give you a prize list from 10 years ago, tell you who was on the bench that day and then remind you of what you played. I'd say, "Oh yeah, I remember that," when really I didn't.

Willie....so spot on.... you have given us another glimpse of one of the most charismatic personalities to ever play the pipes. Our lives are so much richer for having known Alasdair, yet so much poorer from his passing...... always remembered... Ken Eller
