| Thanks to Roddy, John and all for the opportunity again to pay music with great friends.
Thanks to Kahlil for stepping up and doing such a well praised job.
Thanks also to NYPB for the use of their snare drums and Jim Kilpatrick for the use of the Shotts tenor drums.
My daughter is home now, on house rest for a wee while. She's going to be OK.
Thanks for all of the e-mails and notes.
Craig and family.

| cannot wait to hear the recordings of this. Hope all is well with the Hoss and family, never nice to get a call to rush back home because of an emergency.
Its all in a name - that band really is "The Spirit of Scotland" - Talent by the bucket load. |

| My daughter Sian also played with both bands-tenor. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and could relax a bit, not being in charge for once. Well done to both bands. |

| Nicely written article, Mr. Worrall. Such praise within your review lends me to think this was the performance of a lifetime that sadly many of us missed.
I'm very much looking forward to Mr. McDonald's YouTube videos. Good form! This is what the family of piping is all about, yes?! |

| Roddy MacLeod had asked me to put together 5 video montages which were shown on the big screen between the Spirit of Scotland's sets.
It was an honor to also create a special montage for the tribute to Alasdair Gillies. His family and friends entrusted me with many personal photos, and I thank them for their help and generosity.
I videotaped the entire concert (both bands) with 6 cameras, and we are now back in LA editing the tribute portion of the concert to share on YouTube as soon as possible. Will keep you posted. John McDonald

| Many great moments like this throughout the concert. And, many of them took place "behind the scenes", truly revealing the immense talent pool that was on stage. Not sure how many in the audience noticed that Chris Duncan was playing bass with L and B in the first half, switched kilts and played tenor with S of S in the second half. Also, Craig Colquhoun had flown over to play bass with S of S. A family emergency required Craig to return home pior to the concert. With a day to prepare, Kahlil Cappuccino moved from tenor to bass and handled it masterfully throughout the concert. Bob Worrall |

| I agree with all of Bob's comments, but the highlight for me was when, Wilson Brown introduced the Spirits, M.S.R. Because Lothian and Borders had played John Morrison of Assynt House as their reel, it meant that the Spirit had to change theirs to McKallisters Dirk, so at the drop of a hat 19 pipers changed their MSR. How many bands could do that on stage?.
No substitute for TALENT | |
