The Guiness Book of Records 1988 states that the Duration Record for Playing Bagpipes was 100 hours by schoolboys Neville Workman, Clive Higgins, Patrick Forth and Paul Harris from The Churchill School Pipe Band, Harare, Zimbabwe. They played two at a time in shifts from 9-13th July, 1976. Would three pipe bands be quite the same?

Is that also a young Gus Clarke at the back and Jimmy Menzies at the front?. After the first record, previously set by AUOTC, who celebrate their Centenary this year, when a neighbour was asked if there had been any problems, replied 'well thank God there's nae smell '!

Helluva great idea. Some mates and I tried to drink beer non-stop for 24 hrs once, back in College. Now this beats it by a landslide. And backing charity, too - so sad I'm so far away to fill any open slots!
