Torphichen out of gate quickly with victory at Dunbar

Dunbar, Scotland – May 8, 2010 – The "new" Torphichen & Bathgate got its 2010 season off to a fast start by winning the Grade 1 event at the Dunbar Highland Games, the first outdoor contest of the UK season. Under newly appointed Pipe-Major Stuart Shedden, Torphichen bested the Lothian & Borders Police, also under new leadership, with Ian Duncan installed as pipe-major. The Grade 2 Mackenzie Caledonian of Dundee finished third in the Grade 1 contest. Weather was sunny but with a cold wind that made playing and tone challenging.
