Fife takes Dunbar in Grade 1 kickoff

Dunbar, Scotland – May 16, 2015 – The Scottish outdoor pipe band competition season got going last week in Kinross and Gourock, but it was Dunbar that had the first Grade 1 contest, albeit with only two bands entered. The day was the usual windy but sunny test for contestants for the once-thriving seasonal kickoff, and Grade 2 also saw only two entries, the rest comprising Grade 3 and Juvenile bands playing up. Smaller competitions in the UK continue to see weakened entries in the top grades, with bands choosing to focus on the five major championships.

2nd Denny & Dunipace Gleneagles (2,2,2,2)
