FMM gets off on right foot with Dunn at helm

Malahide, Dublin – May 15, 2004 – The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band showed strength in adversity by winning its first contest since the band’s pipe-major, Richard Parkes, suffered a mild stroke in March. Interim pipe-major Alistair Dunn led the band to victory, while Parkes was on hand to offer advice.

Weather was excellent at the well-attended festival, and Field Marshal chalked up its seventh consecutive Malahide title, pocketing €1000 for its efforts.

Grade 2
1st Ballinderry Bridge
2nd Cullbackey
3rd Killadeas

Judges for all events were Iain MacLellan, Tom Anderson, Gordon Parkes, and Joe Noble.
