Kaitlin Kimove of Stoney Creek, Ontario, was the big winner at the Metro Express Amateur Competition, taking both of the Grade 1 events. The event was the start of the Metro Express workshop weekend, which also features the Metro Cup professional solo piping events on February 15th.

Glasgow International Festival of Piping, featuring Pipe-Major Duncan Nicholson and Leading-Drummer Eric Ward of the Grade 1 Greater Glasgow Police Scotland Pipe Band. The leaders performed to a standing-room only crowd that gathered at the Street Café outside of the National Piping Centre, with listeners spilling out of the tent to watch two of the world’s most talented exponents of the art in a free performance.
