Kingston Celtfest gains momentum under bright skies

Kingston, Ontario – May 29, 2010 – The annual Celtfest contest at Kingston enjoyed an increased entry for another year in both band and solo competitions, and warm, sunny afternoon weather. The competition is not sanctioned by any association and, for the second straight year, the three pipe band judges – Andrew Berthoff, Lynda MacKay and Doug Stronach – each assessed contestants from a purely ensemble perspective. In the solo events, MacGregor van de Ven won two firsts in the Open Amateur MSR and Jig.
