Strathclyde Uni World’s Week events include McCallum bagpipe draw
The University of Strathclyde is once again offering a full slate of daily piping and drumming events to complement the chock-a-block Piping Live! program during the week preceding the World Pipe Band Championships.
With the Lord Todd Bar at the University of Strathclyde returning as the venue, a highlight of the week is the University of Strathclyde Piping Recital Challenge – the original event that started the University’s ongoing interest in taking advantage of the week.
For the first time, McCallum Bagpipes of Kilmarnock, Scotland, has donated a set of pipes to be awarded to a lucky ticket holder at the Piping Recital Challenge, which this year features world-renowned pipers Alasdair Gillies, Angus MacColl, Stuart Liddell and Chris Armstrong.
