Cameron Drummond wins both MacCrimmon and Piob trophies at Lorient

Lorient, Brittany – August 7-8, 2011 – Cameron Drummond of Edinburgh was the overall winner of the Scottish, Irish and Breton sections to take the MacCrimmon Trophy at the Lorient Interceltic Music Festival.

3rd Robert Watt, Northern Ireland
4th Andrew Carlisle, Pittsburgh
5th Ladislas Klatka
6th Stuart Easton, New Zealand

Also competing were Emmet Conway, Dublin; Jonathan Graham, Glasgow; Nick Hudson; Gwenael Le Corronc, Brittany; and Matthew Supranowicz.

The judges were Hurbert Raud, Bruno Le Rouziv (Breton); William Garret, John O’Brien (Irish); and John Wilson, Bob Worrall (Scottish).

Drummond then went on to win the trophy in the separate Piobaireachd competition held on August 8th:
