DMM goes to MacColl
Stornoway, Scotland – April 1, 2011 – The annual Donald MacLeod Memorial Invitational Solo Piping Competition was won by Angus MacColl of Benderloch, Scotland. MacColl tied in points with Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland, which broken on Piobaireachd event preference. The Hornpipe & Jig, won by Stuart Liddell, Inveraray, Scotland, did not count towards the aggregate. Liddell also won the MSR. The event celebrates the compositions and contributions of the late great Pipe-Major Donald MacLeod in his home isle of Lewis.
