Willie McCallum overall winner at Donald MacLeod Memorial; Speirs and Liddell take the firsts

Stornoway, Scotland – March 30, 2012 – The nineteenth annual Donald MacLeod Memorial Invitational Piping Competition was won by Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland. McCallum enjoyed the best overall success through the Piobaireachd and MSR events, and rounded out the day with another solid showing in the Hornpipe & Jig, which does not factor into the aggregate. The contest pays tribute to the late great piper, and contestants are required to play his compositions throughout the events.
