A week of piping events like no other, featuring the best the world of bagpipes has to offer. It includes concerts, workshops, family activities, free shows and performances, instruction and competition, including the World Pipe Band Championships. Runs august 11 to 17th, 2008.

This music Festival runs July 11-14, 2008 and includes a varied program of traditional music, including maker displays.

The Pipers' Gathering will be held on the first weekend in August (August 1 through 4 - Friday through Monday), featuring workshops, sessions, instruction, performance and socializing.

Ceilidh Culture is Edinburgh's annual showcase of traditional arts, held in the spring of each year. It showcases the best of home-grown talent alongside acts from across the world, with local performers as well as international stars from all sectors of the traditional arts.

Bagpiper, Barry Shears, will share the distinct style and repertoire of pipe music in the strongly Scottish settlements of Canada¡¯s Cape Breton Island. (Tunes will be taught in the traditional manner, by ear¡ªbring your chanter, pipes, and a tape recorder.) Dancer Alison Shears will teach a concurrent workshop in the exuberant art of Cape Breton Stepdance¡ªa lively yet relaxed style that Scots are now RE-discovering, thanks to the folks of Cape Breton who passed down this old Scottish art and kept it alive and kicking! (Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes; no sandals or taps, please.

A Gathering of the Clans to help celebrate this unique and special day - let's all don our tartans and come together on the Hill to celebrate our heritage and legacy. Pipes and drums, highland, step and Scottish Country Dancing will take place after the Dominion Carillonneur bells ring at 12 noon. The National Piping Centre is collaborating with the National Trust for Scotland to run a new annual Piobaireachd competition. The first event will be held on the 14th of April 2007 in the Drumossie Hotel, near Culloden and this event coincides with the re-dedication of the battlefield. Four invited Pipers will perform tunes associated with the Battle of Culloden and the Jacobite Era. The guest pipers are William McCallum, Angus MacColl,Euan MacCrimmon and Dr Angus MacDonald.
