Subject to confirmation, the Canterbury Caledonian Society Pipe Band will be running ChCh Casino Victoria Square on the first Saturday in December 2020.

The awards ceremony will be hosted via Zoom at noon Eastern Time on October 9th.

The 14th Annual Balmoral Classic will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. This will be a virtual event, competitors submitting videos. Please, apply by Oct. 14. Those invited to compete may sign up for any one of three Prerecording Workshops with professional piper Sean Patrick Regan. Regan will work with competitors to ensure that they are prepared to submit their best recordings. On November 14, all competition performances will Premiere on YouTube, with LiveChat available to give viewers the experience of attending a live event. First prize for the winning piper will be a set of McCallum bagpipes.

The Nicol-Brown Master Class

Nicol-Brown competitors will be given the privilege of receiving instruction from Callum Beaumont, Faye Henderson, and Matt MacIsaac. Pipers at all levels are invited to attend the Master Class and learn from the suggestions given to each competitor. Topics will include musical expression, technique, and improving performances toward the professional level.

The Nicol-Brown Amateur Invitational Solo Piping Competition was started in 1982 and the 2023 rendition of the event will see the fortieth time that the prestigious contest will be held, this year on October 9th at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Rockville, Maryland.

The event, which sees 10 of the year's best amateur pipers from across North America, will as always feature three contests: Piobaireachd, MSR and 6/8 Marches.
