Robert-Malcolm Grade 2 band changes leading-drummers

The Grade 2 Robert-Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band has appointed Andre Tessier, a long-serving member of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, its new leading-drummer. Tessier replaces Karen Perry, who had been RMM’s leading-drummer since 2003.

According to sources, Perry stepped down for personal reasons. Tessier will reportedly no longer play with SFU.

The highly touted Robert-Malcolm Memorial finished seventh in Grade 2 at the 2005 World Pipe Band Championships, with a 25th placing from drumming judge Harry Russell. The band is one of five in the Simon Fraser University system, and reportedly plans to return to the World’s in 2006.
