Video: 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) take Georgetown

Georgetown, Ontario – June 13, 2015 – 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) opened the PPBSO band season with a win at the Georgetown Highland Games in warm and sunny weather. Placings from the Grade 1 judges were scattered. The competition marked the debut in Ontario of the “mini-MSR” event for Grade 4 bands, in which they play four parts of each type of tune, but can use two parts of any tune type. Andrea Boyd was the Professional Piper of the Day and Zack Miller took home the Professional Drummer of the Day prize. A sizable crowd gathered for the always-popular competition in the town, about 40 minutes by car northwest of the city of Toronto.
