Bradford leaves Glasgow Pipes & Drums

Don Bradford has left the pipe-majorship of the Glasgow Pipes & Drums, the band that he helped to found in the spring of 2004, to join the Strathclyde Police, a band with which he previously played.

Bradford left the David Urquhart Travel Pipe Band, taking much of its pipe section with him, to form the Glasgow Pipes & Drums, which became the first band ever to begin as accredited by the RSPBA as Grade 1.

Cameron Currie, a piper with the band, has reportedly taken over as pipe-major of Glasgow Pipes & Drums.

In Bradford’s pipe band career he has been a member of Boghall & Bathgate, David Urquhart Travel, Field Marshal Montgomery, the 78th Fraser Highlanders, Strathclyde Police, Black Bottle, and Glasgow Pipes & Drums.
