Bucksburn, Lothian & Borders Police, Grampian Police Reportedly Recommended for Grade 1

The Music Board of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association has filed its re-grading decisions to the organization’s National Council, and has reportedly recommended that Lothian & Borders Police, Grampian Police, and Bucksburn & District move from Grade 2 to Grade 1.

The committee has also allegedly recommended that Hydro Electric Buchan be moved back to Grade 2 from Grade 1.

The recommendations will be considered by the National Council (the governing body of the RSPBA) at a meeting on October 21-22. Generally, Music Board decisions are given quick approval by the National Council, although last May it rejected the Music Board’s pre-season recommendation to move Lothian & Borders Police back to Grade 1.

It is also thought that, if they are in fact officially upgraded, Grampian Police and Bucksburn will appeal to remain in Grade 2.

Stay tuned to Piper & Drummer Online for further details after the National Council’s meeting.
