Coburn wins Shotts concert tickets!

Of the hundreds of entries to the pipes|drums House of Edgar Shotts & Dykehead concert tickets contest, the one from Richard Coburn of Banbridge, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, was the first correct one opened.

For his canny knowledge of Shotts’ history, Richard receives two tickets to “Caledonia,” the band’s concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday, August 13th, as part of the World’s Week festivities in Glasgow.

Pipe-Major Robert Mathieson personally provided the skill-testing questions that so many hyper-intelligent pipes|drums readers had no trouble answering correctly.

Mathieson outlined the “Caledonia” concert in the first part of his exclusive pipes|drums Interview.

Clever pipes|drums readers who want to test their knowledge of piping and drumming fun factoids are reminded of the pipes|drums Trivia Challenge Open Championship Extravaganza on Thursday, August 14th, at 5:30 pm in the auditorium of the National Piping Centre as part of the Piping Live! festival.

Admission for spectators is absolutely free, and entering a team of four to compete for the £250 cash first-prize. Second-prize is £100, and £50 goes to the third-place team. A special general audience round will allow those not on a team to be first on draw to receive prizes and pipes|drums merchandise.
