Drambuie-Kirkliston Leadership Change Made Official

Ian Duncan, former Pipe-Major of the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, became the new Pipe-Major of the Drambuie-Kirkliston Pipe Band in an official handover of the Pipe-Major’s banner by the band’s previous and founding Pipe-Major, Martin G. Wilson.

The presentation was made at the annual Armistice Parade in Kirkliston Village, Edinburgh, on November 9th.

We broke the Drambuie pipe-majorship story in September.

Drambuie-Kirkliston has enjoyed good success as a Grade 2 band over the last decade, with several prizes in major championships. Vale of Atholl under Ian Duncan won two RSPBA Grade 1 championships, and finished as high as second at the World Championships in the top grade.

Drambuie Limited provides the group with one of the pipe band world’s best sponsorships, with the band supplied with two kilts and various combinations of uniforms. The band travels extensively to raise awareness of the Drambuie brand around the world.
