First Veterans’ Memorial Games a success

Spencerville, Ontario – 19 June 2004 – The first Veterans’ Memorial Highland Games near Ottawa enjoyed near-perfect weather of 20 degrees and sunshine, and 15 bands across four grades vied for prizes.

The event, which hopes to become a sanctioned Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario champion supreme contest in 2005, was held at the Spencerville Agricultural Fairgrounds, which provided plenty of shade and ample room for both band and amateur solo events.
