Gillies wins overall at BC’s Annual Gathering
Burnaby, British Columbia – April 14-15, 2006 – Alasdair Gillies of Pittsburgh was the overall winner, taking two of three first prizes, of the 74th annual Annual Gathering of the British Columbia Pipers Association held at Simon Fraser University. Andrew Bonar, Surrey, BC, captured the MacCrimmon Cairn for Piobaireachd. Cameron Scott of Davis, Calif., won all three Grade 1 amateur piping events. Reid Maxwell won both side drumming events.
