Glasgow Skye Association takes on new sponsorship

The Grade 1 Glasgow Skye Association Pipe Band has a new sponsor and a new name: Phoenix Honda Glasgow Skye.

Formed in 1968 as the band of the Glasgow-Skye Association, the band this year secured sponsorship from Phoenix Honda, one of the largest auto dealers in the United Kingdom.

The band, with Craig Campbell as pipe-major, will make its debut under its new name at the Scottish Championships at Dumbarton, Scotland, on May 22.

“We will keep our close ties with the Glasgow Skye Association, which formed the band in 1968,” said Campbell, “but, as all Grade 1 bands can appreciate, you do need financial help to survive.”
