Kansas City braces for another Winter Storm

Hamilton, Ontario – November 20, 2010 – Andrew Laird of Winnipeg, Manitoba, emerged the overall winner at the 2010 George Sherriff Memorial Amateur Invitational Solo Piping Competition, held at St. Pauls Church. Laird was awarded the aggregate prize after a tie with Glenn Walpole of Tiverton, Ontario, broken by his win in the Piobaireachd event. It was the 15th year of the competition. There was a different winner of each event, and all three events were judged by Peter Aumonier, Murray Henderson and Terry Lee.

  1. I am in KC now. Was at the bar at the Marriot yesterday evening. Had a great time meeting with several legends” of the pipe band world.Not many places where you can meet one on one in a relaxed atmsophere. Great venue and the music is outstanding.”
