L.A. Scots, Windsor Police team up for pre-Maxville show

The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band of Ottawa, Ontario, has put together two of North America’s best pipe band to form “An Evening of Celtic Excellence,” a double-bill concert featuring the Los Angeles Scots and Windsor Police.

According to Sons of Scotland pipe-major Bethany Bisaillion, “In keeping with the tradition of great piping and drumming held at the Maxville Highland Games, the band thought it would be a terrific idea to invite fellow bandsmen to perform in a traditional and informal show. We are honoured to be joined this year by the Windsor Police Pipe Band and the L.A. Scots.”

The show will take place on Thursday, July 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Confederation Park in Ottawa. A post-show ceilidh will be held at D’arcy McGee’s Irish Pub on 44 Sparks Street. Ottawa’s Lord Elgin Hotel has arranged a special room rate for people wishing to stay over the Maxville Highland Games weekend. Readers are advised to mention this story.
