LA Scots to Compete in Piping Centre Quartets

The Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band is sending four of its best pipers to Glasgow to take part in the National Piping Centre‘s annual quartet competition at the Centre’s McPhater Street premises.

It is the first time that a non-RSPBA band has participated in the event, and foreshadows an increased commitment by the California band to eventually win the World Pipe Band Championship. LA Scots reported recently secured a lucrative sponsorship from the New York, New York hotel-casino organization of Las Vegas.

Round one of the quartet knockout is scheduled for March 28, and will also feature groups from Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia, David Urquhart Travel, Dumfries & Galloway Police, Lothian & Borders Police and the Strathclyde Police bands.

The event is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm.
