Legion pipe band searching for help after fire destroys hall

A devastating fire on June 11th that left the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93 hall a smoldering wreck burnt to the ground has also left the Oromocto Legion Pipes & Drums without uniforms, drums, carriers and everything stored at the building in Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada. The fire has already been determined by police to be arson.

“The branch is going to try to rebuild,” said Pipe-Major Robert Stobbs. “Any assistance would be greatly appreciated in helping to rebuild the band.”

The Oromocto Legion band was started in 1981 as a community parade band, with the primary goal to honour veterans in Oromocto and its surrounding communities. Under Stobbs and Lead-Drummer Teddy Ricketts the band has grown to 24 members. The group is not active in competition.

Anyone interested in helping the band to rebuild may contact Robert Stobbs at this address.
