Lorne Cousin touring with Madonna

Lorne Cousin, a successful competitive piper based in Edinburgh, has joined Madonna’s world tour after connecting with the world’s most famous pop music artist by way of mutual friend Stella McCartney.

Cousin, who grew up in Campbeltown, Scotland, is the son of a veterinarian, and tended to Paul McCartney’s animals on his
farm at Mull of Kintyre. He was asked to play at the recent wedding of Stella McCartney, which led to wedding guest Madonna asking him to join her tour.

Lorne Cousin is taking an extended leave-of-absence from Turcan Connell, a law firm based in Edinburgh.

“I am having a ball,” says Cousin. “It is amazing playing in front of 20,000 people every night. I am looking forward to touring all over the States. The finale to the show has a strong Scottish flavour.”
