Matt McConnell

Matt McConnell, long-time drumming judge, performer and instructor in the eastern United States, died suddenly of a heart attack on May 18, 2006, at his home in Delaware.

McConnell was the owner of Highland Heritage Pipe Band Supplies & Uniforms. He began drumming at age 12 and served with the Lowland division of the Cameronians before immigrating to the United States. He also was a teacher to the 10th Battalion Gurkha Rifles for a period.

We extend our sympathies to Matt McConnell’s survivors and his many friends throughout the piping and drumming world.
