McCallum the man at Donald MacLeod Memorial
Sornoway, Lewis, Scotland – April 1, 2005 – Willie McCallum’s two second-prizes were enough to win the overall award at the annual Donald MacLeod Memorial Invitational Solo Piping Competition, held in honour of the great Seaforth’s pipe-major at the Cabar Feidh Hotel. Alasdair Gillies and Angus MacColl won the piobaireachd and march, strathspey and reel events. The contest commemorates Donald MacLeod and his music. Competitors must submit tunes composed by him.
