McComish issues statement on Band Room mess

Paul McComish, the head of the failed Glasgow-based Band Room piping and drumming merchandise dealership, has issued a statement to Piper & Drummer Online concerning his company’s recent bankruptcy.

“Much has been said and reported on the situation regarding the Band Room. The situation is that on Monday August 15th, 2005 [sic] the directors of The Bandroom [sic] called in liquidators to the company. This situation was not taken lightly and was due to an impass [sic] in resolving issues with the companies [sic] creditors. The impact of the decision affects many people and is deeply regretable [sic], yet unavoidable. The directors are working with the liquidator to investigate ways to proceed forward and a statement regarding this will be available in due course. I, and the other directors of The Bandroom [sic] are deeply sorry. I can be contacted at info@rghardie.com to respond to any concerns pertaining to this matter. Paul McComish.”

Since going in to liquidation, numerous companies, bands and individuals have been left wondering if they will ever get money back for deposits on merchandise. The Band Room’s assets were reportedly taken on August 15 for an auction at a date still to be announced.

The organization’s R.G. Hardie business is apparently still operational.
