  1. I wish the Ontario bands would come down like in the old days. Used to be a big contest. For those who haven’t seen the YouTube videos of Grade II, here are the links. Enjoy! Saturday, Alma – SETS 3RD – COCPB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCNzd638GPA 2ND – CHARLESTON PD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kaq5jt6jf4A 3RD – MIDLOTHIAN http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNTPORhYjcs Sunday, Alma – MEDLEY 3RD – CHARLESTON PD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTA4ilbI0Aw 2ND – COCPB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-cnBiG2_b8 1ST – MSPB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFOSjJv2EZE

  2. In many respects, Alma became too expensive to go there every year. The college kept increasing the price for their very basic dorm rooms and when combined with increasing fuel costs it is an issue.

  3. To the person who left the last comment, well first of all, there may have been 3 bands in grade 2 but not in the whole contest. And 2nd of all, how is it any fault of the competitors that the Alma Highland Festival has been the site of the U.S. Championships for the past so many years but now attendance is dropping? It’s then the competitor’s fault that they go to compete at the U.S. Championships and there’s not much attendance? I’m sure you made all the winners feel just wonderful by that standard.
