Over 35 Attend 2003 PPBSO Judges Seminar
The Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario (PPBSO) held its annual Adjudicators Seminar in Campbellville, Ontario, on May 31, with over 35 organization judges attending the all-day session.
Facilitated by PPBSO Music Board Chair, Ed Neigh, the eight-hour program included a variety of topics, including updates to rules and policies, repertoire expansion, and a discussion on etiquette and decorum.
Jim McGillivray led a wide-ranging segment on band judging and various issues and dilemmas facing piping, drumming and ensemble judges. An illuminating discussion on the weighting of tone and tuning, as opposed to content and playing, was punctuated by various views from and trading ideas between the many attendees.
PPBSO panel adjudicators came as far as Dunedin, Florida, to attend the workshop.
