Peel and Brown sign on with Premier in endorsement deal

Fresh off its win of the 2010 North American Championship, the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band of Brampton, Ontario, has joined Field Marshal Montgomery, St. Laurence O’Toole and Fife Constabulary to become Premier Music International Limited’s latest sponsored band.

The endorsement deal, of which exact terms were not disclosed, includes Peel Lead-Drummer Graham Brown, who becomes a Premier “endorsing soloist and educator.”

The band has already been playing Premier HTS 800 snares and the company’s Professional Series of mid-section instruments. The endorsement agreement means that the band will continue to use Premier products for a defined period of time.

Premier has endured some challenging developments over the last year, including the departure of long-time endorsee House of Edgar-Shotts & Dykehead and that band’s Lead-Drummer, Jim Kilpatrick, to sign on with rival Pearl Percussion. Kilpatrick had worked with Premier for nearly 30 years. The company also split with Craig Colquhoun, whose Hosbilt line of pipe band bass and tenor drums the company licensed. Colquhoun has since restarted his Hosbilt business as an independent design, development and manufacturing entity
