Piping Centre in recruitment mode with Banks’s retirement

The National Piping Centre in Glasgow is searching for a qualified candidate to replace Pipe-Major Jimmy Banks to become the new Head of Piping Studies for the BA (Scottish Music-Piping) degree program. Banks will be retiring.

The BA (Scottish Music-Piping) is a four-year honours degree course run collaboratively between the National Piping Centre and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. In 2005 the first graduates of the program were Stuart Cassells, Lorne MacDougall and Alan Paterson.

Roddy MacLeod, director of the National Piping Centre, says that further details about the position are available by e-mail or by phone 0044-(0)-141-353-0220. He notes that the closing date for applications is September 12.
