Small entry at Gourock

Gourock, Scotland – May 8, 2005 – The Scottish outdoor season opened at Gourock, Scotland, on Sunday to a small entry of bands, particularly in Grade 1. Dysart & Dundonald was the only premier-grade band to play, easily winning the contest against several Grade 2 bands that played up.

Grade 1
1st Dysart & Dundonald
2nd Torphichen & Bathgate
3rd Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary

Torphichen won the Grade 2 contest.

The Strathclyde Police could not attend the contest due to a concert performance in Northern Ireland. The “new” band will debut, under Donald Mackay, who was appointed pipe-major last fall, at Dunbar on May 14.
