Triumph Street secures sponsorship from investment firm

The Grade 2 Triumph Street Pipe Band of Vancouver has secured a financial sponsorship deal with Odlum Brown Limited, a local investment firm that is known for supporting the arts in the city.

Monetary terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed, but Pipe-Major David Hilder indicated that the band will provide advertising and a banner at Triumph Street concerts.

“The band will not be changing the name in any way,” Hilder said, “and the deal is at this point long term, year-to-year renegotiation.”

Triumph Street plans to perform at Festival Vancouver on August 9 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, just after the band competes at the North American Championships at Maxville, Ontario, and the Montreal Highland Games, in addition to playing at B in the Park, an outdoor performance in Ottawa promoted by the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band.

  1. Awesome! Good to hear that the band is starting to get some well deserved support. Looking forward to seeing a new force to be reckoned with in the pipe band world making its stamp on Canada and the world. Good luck at Maxville guys, you are one of Canada’s best pipe bands

  2. I still have to wonder about this band being in grade 2 after winning the worlds. Only a name change is what it takes to stay in the same grade after winning the worlds nowadays?
