Updated: CPA announces venue for AGM

The Competing Pipers Association (CPA) has announced that the North Berwick Highland Games on August 6 will now offer solo piping contests for players graded “P,” “A,” and “B.” Closing date and time for entries to the contest August 5 at 6 p.m. and can be made by e-mail or phone: 07788-891-956 or 01620-893-500.

North Berwick offers some of the best prize money in Scotland, and last year had a large turn-out of pipers. The contests were previously not open to pipers with a P grading.

The CPA also advised that its annual general meeting will be held this year in Glasgow on August 19, with an aim to attract non-UK members who are in Scotland for the Argyllshire Gathering. Venue is Wickets Hotel in the west end of Glasgow at 7 p.m.
