Exactly! Obviously there are people out there that can’t accept the Fact” that the Shepherd chanter has without doubt proven itself as “the” most successful chanter over the last decade and then some and that cannot be denied. FMM – Shott’s
Let’s hope Shepherd is next!
Why? FM has done phenomenally well with the Shepherd chanter for how many years now? A lot.
That being said, Tom, over the past 30-or-more years, the Sinclair Chanter has won far more major titles and World Championships.
Taking nothing away from the Sinclair chanter and it’s successes over the years. It is an awesome instrument albeit very expensive in comparison to it’s counterparts. The intention was not to compare chanters but to recognize the fact that the Shepherd product is widely and successfully used by bands over the last decade and even earlier. Not only used by top grade one bands but also by prize winning bands in every other grade competing at the major events. There are a few good chanters out on the market at this time and potentially if they get in the right hands, who knows what could transpire with respect to winning. This however is not really about chanters, it’s about Pearl and a response to a remark that was made earlier.
