Watt, Chisholm win McLennan, MacDonald

San Diego – October 15-16, 2004 – Robert Watt of Northern Ireland was the overall winner of the 2004 G.S McLennan Invitation Piping Competition after gaining a first and second prize in the contest, which pits players from around the world against each other in two events.

2nd Robert Watt, Londonderry, “His Father’s Lament for Donald MacKenzie”
3rd Marion Horsburgh, Wellington, New Zealand, “Mary’s Praise”

3rd Kenneth Sutherland, Menlo Park, California

Also competing but not in the prizes was Roderick MacLean of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The previous day the Pipe-Major Angus MacDonald Western Regional Championship was held. Jori Chisholm, the overall winner of the professional event, qualifies for the United States Piping Foundation competition in June.
