World’s Week Grade 1 practice schedules
For the fifth straight year we are pleased to provide readers with a guide to the schedules and locations of practices of Grade 1 bands competing for the World Pipe Band Championship, this year on August 12 in Glasgow.
All bands are listed, including those that have not yet responded with details. Their information will be added as it is provided, so please keep checking back over the days leading up to the World’s. Readers are advised that schedules may change, and that they should double-check before making travel plans. Bands are listed in alphabetical order.

Robert Wiseman Dairies – Vale of Atholl
“Due to the World’s concert we won’t actually be practicing that week. All we will do is have a chanter check on the Friday night.”
When: Tues, Aug. 8; Thur., Aug. 10; Fri., Aug. 11, 8 – 10:30 p.m.
Where: Tuesday at the Todd Bar Strathclyde University; Thursday and Friday at ScottishPower HQ, Cathcart, Glasgow

Scottish Lion-78th Fraser Highlanders
When: Twice daily, Aug. 7-11, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Where: University of Strathclyde (Rottenrow) on the grass at the east side of the residence complex.
Note: “No security clearance required, but pints with the band guys in the Todd following the p.m. practice highly recommended.”

St. Laurence O’Toole

Where: Lochinch Police Club, Pollok Country Park, Glasgow, 15 minutes from Glasgow city centre, off the M77 motorway.
