pipes|drums is pleased to being readers / viewers video of the prize-winning performances in the March, Strathspey & Reel event at the 2016 George Sherriff Memorial Amateur Invitational Solo Piping Competition on November 19, 2016, at St. Paul’s United Church in Hamilton, Ontario.

Before the footage of his MSR, the first-prize-winner, Austin Diepenhorst of San Diego, speaks with us about winning the overall prize, and competition organizer Bob Worrall also provides his take on the 21st annual rendition of the contest, considered to be one of the pre-eminent amateur piping events in the world.

Due to the extreme low light of the venue, video image quality is unfortunately relatively poor. We hope that you enjoy these performances.
