The Highland of Durham Games offers a number of great events based on traditional Highland Games in Scotland and held for decades across Ontario and Canada.

50th year in 2016.

Join us for a full slate of events comprising the Highland Games – pancake breakfast, highland dancing, piping and drumming, heavy sports, tug of war, sheep dogs, clan tents, Celtic vendors, Scotch tasting, traditional food and beverages, beer garden, massed bands and more.
New this year – food trucks, kids tent and Scotch tasting!

The individual Piping and Drumming competition runs during the morning at various judging stations throughout the park.

Early afternoon brings the Drum Major contest, followed by the Pipe Band Competitions.

The finale of the day is the Massed Bands of the Canmore Highland Games.

The Calgary Highland Games is one of the premier Highland Games in Western Canada. Started in 1913, it is one of the oldest gatherings in North America and celebrated 100 years in 2013. With competitors from around the world, the Calgary Highland Games is a proud example of Scotland’s history come to life.

Annual attendance sees over 3,000 spectators and 350 competitors from across Alberta and neighbouring provinces. Competition includes Piping and Drumming, Dance and Heavy Events.

Be part of the biggest Celtic celebration of the year and immerse yourself in this authentic culture. Cheer on pipers, drummers, highland dancers and Heavy Games competitors as they fight for the top spot.

Edmonton Scottish Society presents Edmonton’s largest and oldest Scottish Festival Piping, Drumming, Band, Heavy Events and Highland Dancing Competitions; Clan Tents; Sheep Dogs; Scottish Food & Wares; Knights of the Northern Realm & Scottish Country Dancing demos.

Full Highland Games, including solos, pipe bands and Highland dancing.

An indoor solo and band event organized by The Ogden Legion Pipe Band.

The SHGCF is a two-day Highland Games featuring piping, drumming, bands, Highland dancing, Scottish athletics and much more! Join us for the two days of the May Long Weekend in beautiful Victoria Park.

Sponsored by The City of Regina Pipe Band and Reelpipes.com, this event is part of the Saskatchewan Highland Gathering and Celtic Festival.

Requirements: players will entertain with an 8-10 minute selection of their own choice. The selection must include the ground of a piobaireachd, and one tune composed by a Canadian.
Prize Money: $300 - $150 - $75

Buffalo Bagpipe Band Club - Snare Drum Study Outreach

Announcing the creation of a snare drum study outreach group for all Buffalo and surrounding area Pipe Band Snare Drummers. The group is an offshoot of the Buffalo Bagpipe Band Club.  Starting on January 9th, 2016. The material that will be covered will be created to fulfill the needs of the participating group members.  For example, the Massed Band settings may be one of the subjects.  Study material will be supported by pdf and video files posted on the internet for later reference. There is no fee to participate but voluntary donations may be made to benefit the Buffalo Bagpipe Band Club.

Invermark College of Piping is pleased to announce our next Piobaireachd Seminar with Donald F. Lindsay.  This seminar will focus on selected tunes from the new Piobaireachd Society Book 16 as well as other requested tunes (as time permits).  The seminar material will be geared for experienced pipers who have achieved the Grade 3 solo level or above. Early Bird Tuition (by December 26, 2015) $245. Regular Tuition $295.

The Western Branch will host the 7th annual Kiwanis Amateur Piping & Drumming & Band Competition on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at London Central Secondary School.
Soloists up to Grade 1 will be awarded CS points. Bands up to Grade 3 will receive prize money and adjudication by certified judges.

The Paris Port Dover Pipe Band is coming to the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover Ontario on Nov 21 and Nov. 22. "Paris Port Dover, 15 Years and Counting" will sell out fast, so plan for the evening show on Saturday, or the Sunday matinee and purchase your tickets soon. There will be some unexpected and very enjoyable surprises that you won't want to miss.  Tickets are $20.00 per person and can be purchased in advance through the Port Dover Lighthouse Festival Theatre website.

Nicol-Brown competitors will be given the privilege of receiving instruction from Callum Beaumont, and pipers at all levels are encouraged to observe the Master Class and benefit from hearing Callum's advice to each piper. Topics will include musical expression, technique, and improving performances toward the professional level.

Admission is free, thanks to the EUSPBA and other generous donors. Donations are always welcome.
